The Story
In January of 2023, Cartier’s roommate Lucy forwarded her a message from a brother renting a duplex. The brother said his son would need roommates and that he would attend the French congregation. Cartier responded, “That’s exciting,” and thought nothing more of it, because she doesn’t believe people are moving to French until they actually show up and are announced.
Surprisingly, Nathanael actually did show up. She noted right away that he was gregarious and energetic. Nathanael remembers meeting Cartier and immediately liking her, thinking that she was beautiful and that she seemed fun. That same week, they preached together for the first time. Cartier discerned his interest – and that he was younger than she was. So, although she also noticed that he was very handsome, she decided not to give it a second thought. She casually mentioned her age to let him down gently. When he learned the age difference, Nathanael was disappointed and concluded that Cartier would never be interested in him.
But in the absence of romantic interest, a solid friendship was given space to flourish. Almost every time they were out in service, they were assigned to the same group. The more it happened, the more they looked forward to it. During those long service days, they observed each other’s zeal, commitment, humor, patience, and endurance. Over time, it became apparent – possibly to everyone – that they were compatible in personality, worldviews, and goals.
One evening over dinner, Cartier, Nathanael and Stella got into a conversation about what each person would need from a potential future spouse, according to the other two. Nathanael’s description of the right man for Cartier was (1) frighteningly accurate and (2) basically a description of Nathanael himself. She went home and lamented (to God and to Lucy) how she wished she could find someone like Nathanael but closer in age. Nathanael, for his part, realized how interested he still was, but he was convinced that Cartier would not feel the same.
After a streak of 15 consecutive days spent together in each other’s company, they both sensed that there was more to their story than just warm friendship. A month-long group trip to the convention in Bulgaria cemented their connection. After many discussions, they decided that their similarities far outweighed any of their differences. They decided to give romance a try – and they are so happy it has been a success with everyone’s loving support. They can’t wait to celebrate their wedding with every guest who means so much to each of them.

Am I Invited to the Ceremony?
We would love if you could join us for the ceremony! It will be held at the Kingdom Hall in West Milford, NJ at 4:30 PM. If you cannot attend the ceremony at the hall, we would love to have you join us on Zoom. The link will be updated here when we have it set up.
Am I Invited to the Reception?
We would love to invite everyone, but unfortunately our venue is very limited. If you have received an invitation in the mail, please RSVP as soon as possible by scanning the QR code on your invitation.
